Ethel Yvonne Whobrey (McGrew), 85, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022. Ethel was a Baptist by faith and was a member of New Assembly Baptist Church, she had a deep love of God. She was a prolific Poet and an amazing artist, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. Ethel was a Youth Counselor for Sunshine Lodge, Ormsby Village, Home of the Innocents and retired from Jefferson County Human Services. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Edward Whobrey; parents, Robert and Alma McGrew; sons, Donald Ray Whobrey and Joseph Keith Whobrey; daughter, Anita Robin Palmer She is survived by her daughters, Tammie Abell (Charlie) and Kathy Schmidt (Carl); grandchildren, Crystal Whobrey, Wendi Flener, Kristie Smith, Katelyn Bumba, Greg Chavez, Chuck Palmer, Tiffani Palmer, Ryan Chavez, Brooke Paysse; several great grandchildren; her dearest lifelong friend, Joetta Johnson, and her “Adopted Daughters” Donna Skaggs, and Dolores Edelen. Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Monday, April 4, 2022 at J.B. Ratterman & Sons Funerals & Family Cremation Care 2114 W. Market Street with burial in McGrew Church Cemetery, Anneta, Ky. Visitation will be 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday, April 3, 2022.
