Patrick Eugene Burda

Patrick Eugene Burda, age 76 years (DOB August 6, 1946), passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the University of Louisville Hospital Burn Unit. He succumbed to his injuries in an accidental fire. He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene J. and Mildred L. (Plonski) Burda, and his sister, Sandra K. Tucker. Patrick is survived by a brother, Perry G. Burda of Howell, Michigan, and his sister, Deborah M. Tucker- Adams of Bloomington, Indiana. He is also survived by nephews: Gregory and Jay Burda, Joey, Mickey, Jeremy, and Jeff Tucker; and nieces, Heidi Tucker, Rebecca Martin, and Jessica Stephens, as well as, numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. Patrick was a lover of nature; he loved to have a garden and loved animals. He would make a pet out of any animal, wild or domestic, even had a pet goat. He had a little Yorkie dog named Lil Boy, a cat named Annabel and a pet tarantula. (He loved spiders so much he refused to kill any in his house) He collected insects all of his life and knew all the names of the insects and had an extensive collection. He was a stamp and coin collector as well and would spend hours working on his collection. He loved his independence and doing things for himself and he seldom asked for help. His favorite TV shows were Wrestling, Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy. He also loved the old classic rock and roll of bands like AC/DC. He had a wonderful sense of humor and made people laugh all the time. He had the biggest heart, (Patrick did not have much), but what he did have, he was more than willing to share and give. He will be missed. A celebration of life service will be held in Liberty, Kentucky in the chapel of the Galilean Children’s Home at a future TBD date and burial will be held at St. Hedwig Cemetery & Mausoleum, 23755 Military Road, Dearborn Heights, Michigan, later in the spring of 2023.
