Kenneth Lee Grant

Grant, Kenneth Lee, born July 17, 1949 departed this life, Tuesday, January 10, 2017, knowing he was loved by many including his Lord. Through his words and actions, he taught us about commitment and to finish what we start. Growing up, he was the little brother, tattle tale, and you knew you’d better run when he bit his tongue. He was good at aggravating, teasing and never let on that he needed anything. He enjoyed muscle cars, music, bowling, smoking, family game nights and taking long rides like his Grandmother “Other Mom” and Mother “Lulu”. Kenny liked to give advice, help, smoke some more and have a good bologna sandwich. His pride was working to provide and surprising his wife with special gifts. If he wasn’t watching western reruns over and over, he was sharing his life with us, spending time with his grandchildren. He would gladly listen to you tell a story and loved a good laugh. He liked mechanics and working with his strong hands. He even helped build his own home that he opened to many. After a debilitating stroke, Kenny was forced to retire from G.E. where he worked for 35 years as a production worker. He is a 1967 graduate from Durrett and an Army veteran, trained in field Artillery, who served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Marian “Lulu” Louise Wesley and Sister, Karen “Kitty” Cahoe, Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy; daughters, Robin Goodman (Dennis), and Devin McCormick (Chad); son, Trevor Grant; grandchildren, Beckha, Jose, Jaelin, Trinity, Briana, Brevin, Gavin, Isaac, Amarie and Autumn; Sister, Barbara “Jobie” Lynch and Brother, August “Augie” Wesley; Aunts Edna, Bettyie, Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifelong thorn in his side “Griff”. Please join us as we celebrate his life and all he has given us on Monday, January 16th at 1pm at Shively Christian Church Sanctuary, 1822 Kendall Lane Louisville, KY 40216. Military Burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park at 3pm. Return to church, Family Life Center (Gym) for a come as you are meal and celebration of his life shared with family and friends at 5 pm.
